A unique polymer sponge rubber architectural seal was developed in 1985 to improve the energy efficiency of insulated glass windows. Edgetech I.G., Ltd., was then formed in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to manufacture the energy efficient window spacers.
Today, the window spacer is trademarked as Super Spacer®, and is manufactured by Edgetech I.G., Inc., in Cambridge, Ohio. The structural foam, non-metal window spacer system dramatically improves window thermal performance, and has revolutionized the insulating glass window and door industry across North America. Today, Super Spacer is sold worldwide, and is rapidly gaining market share in Europe, Asia and South America.
